Members of KL’s Traffic Team were at the 2023 ITE Traffic Engineering Workshop & Transportation Planning Forum on April 6th, where they learned and shared about proven approaches to transportation-related issues. Matt Regnier led a session on ‘Accommodating Freight on Wisconsin Roadways’, sharing current issues and solutions with attendees.

KL’s Kristy Treichel was a speaker for the 2023 Wisconsin Stormwater Management webinar hosted by HalfMoon Education yesterday. She discussed erosion control Best Management Practices (BMPs) for projects. She also covered site constraints and determining usable area on a site by looking at soils, topography, setbacks, wetlands, and floodplains. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, Kristy!

KL’s Matt Regnier presented yesterday at the ACEC & WisDOT Transportation Improvement Conference. He helped attendees gain a deeper appreciation of WisDOT freight accommodation guidelines, project workflow suggestions, and Over Size Over Weight (OSOW) coordination tactics. For the 14th year, ACEC Wisconsin and WisDOT have teamed up to present the 2023 Transportation Improvement Conference. We’ll have 12 staff in attendance to partake in the great educational and networking opportunities they’ve lined up!

The 2023 WisDOT Annual DBE Workshop & Networking Summit begins today! KL’s Lori Green, Scott Cramer, and Aaron Steger are looking forward to attending. Lori will be meeting with the DBEs she supports year-round. Scott and Aaron will be representing KL for the networking sessions on Friday. May your conversations be fruitful!

Our construction team gathered last week for our annual Construction Summit. It was a time for team building, reflecting on past accomplishments, and sharing insights with each other. We look ahead to delivering future work efficiently and effectively, providing [A] Better Experience for all.

KL’s Survey team attended the 74th Annual Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors’ Institute a few weeks ago in the Wisconsin Dells. This educational and professional networking event is committed to the advancement of the surveying profession. We were proud to take part in it!

14 members of our Construction Services team attended the 2023 WTBA-WisDOT Contractor-Engineer Conference several weeks ago. We appreciated having time to learn about future funding and initiatives, and networking with our industry partners. It was a great event – very well attended.

KL’s Bill Biesmann took the stage yesterday at the NASECA Annual Conference. He shared insight on the Elroy-Sparta State Trail repairs required to restore America’s first #RailsToTrails project.
