Members of KL’s Traffic Team were at the 2023 ITE Traffic Engineering Workshop & Transportation Planning Forum on April 6th, where they learned and shared about proven approaches to transportation-related issues. Matt Regnier led a session on ‘Accommodating Freight on Wisconsin Roadways’, sharing current issues and solutions with attendees.
KL’s Kristy Treichel was a speaker for the 2023 Wisconsin Stormwater Management webinar hosted by HalfMoon Education yesterday. She discussed erosion control Best Management Practices (BMPs) for projects. She also covered site constraints and determining usable area on a site by looking at soils, topography, setbacks, wetlands, and floodplains. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, Kristy!

KL’s Kim Lobdell was presented with a “Susan Cronin Vanguard Award” at WisDOT’s 37th Annual Secretary’s Golden Shovel Awards ceremony. The award recognizes Kim’s remarkable efforts as a woman pioneer who built a successful DBE business and her endeavors to promote women in the engineering field. KL Engineering is honored to be a 2023 WisDOT Excellence in Highway Design Award Winner in the Urban Design category. The award was presented at the 2023 Transportation Improvement Conference for the STH 26 Interchange in the City of Janesville. This important reconstruction project added Wisconsin’s third Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) on STH 26 and
KL’s Matt Regnier presented yesterday at the ACEC & WisDOT Transportation Improvement Conference. He helped attendees gain a deeper appreciation of WisDOT freight accommodation guidelines, project workflow suggestions, and Over Size Over Weight (OSOW) coordination tactics.
