It’s that time of year again! Join us in welcoming our newest interns and wishing them great success as they embark on their internships with KL Engineering.
Griffin Johnson: We are excited to welcome Griffin Johnson to KL Engineering’s Madison construction team for a summer internship! Griffin is in his final year at UW-Platteville, where he is pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering and is set to graduate in December 2025. While his internship will be based out of our Madison office, Griffin will be working with Josh Vollmer on a construction project near Platteville all summer.
Will Willet: We are happy to have Will Willet joining us as a construction intern this summer at KL Engineering’s Germantown office. Will is currently studying civil engineering at UW-Milwaukee, where he is honing his skills and knowledge in the field. He brings three years of diverse experience in road construction, especially asphalt paving. He’ll spend most of his summer completing construction observation tasks on our WisDOT STH 33 Intersection Improvement project in the City of West Bend, working closely with Travis Brush. He will also help support our other PTR and municipal projects as needed.
Ashlyn Leibfried: We are thrilled to welcome Ashlyn Leibfried to KL Engineering’s Madison construction team as a summer intern! Ashlyn is currently enrolled in the Construction Management program at UW-Platteville and is set to graduate in May 2026. She has had several engineering project management focused internships and is currently serving as a mechanical engineering academic student assistant. She will assist with the Mendota County Park Redevelopment project, as well as some in progress interstate projects throughout the summer, working closely with Aaron Passow.
Andrew Kane: We are excited to announce that Andrew Kane will be joining KL Engineering’s Madison construction team as a summer intern. Andrew is currently studying Construction Management at UW-Platteville and is expected to graduate in December 2026. Andrew has had several internships as a skilled laborer on construction projects, as well as being a resident assistant and store assistant manager. Andrew will be working closely with Dean Long on IH 94 construction.
Griffin May: We are excited to introduce Griffin May, who will be our new design intern at the Germantown office. Griffin is currently pursuing his civil engineering degree at UW-Milwaukee and is set to graduate in December 2025. Last summer he interned with Waukesha Water Utility, inspecting construction and consulting with contractors. Griffin will be working closely with Brad Domasky, helping the Transportation group. He will get exposure to Civil3D and will help draft and develop plans, as well as practice in quantifying materials and developing estimates.
Caylee Sanders: Caylee Sanders will join KL Engineering as our first marketing intern! Caylee is currently studying Graphic Design at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. She is set to graduate in 2026. She has experience in Illustrator, InDesign and some in Photoshop and Canva, and will assist us with creating graphics for social media. She will be working remotely from Green Bay to help us with various marketing tasks and learn the ropes of marketing in an engineering firm, working closely with Erin Starks.
Owen Brown: We are happy to announce that Owen Brown will be joining KL Engineering’s electrical team as an intern in our Madison office. Owen is studying Electrical Engineering at UW-Madison and is expected to graduate in December 2025. He has previous internship experience at Extreme Engineering Solutions in Verona and currently works as a Technical Staff at UW Makerspace. Owen will work closely with Jake Joyal on various electrical projects with an emphasis on the Monona Terrace lighting design and the Dane County EV Implementation project.
