At its core, the Lower Yahara River Trail (LYRT) Phase 2 & Fish Camp County Park Improvements project fosters inclusivity by offering accessible new amenities. At Fish Camp County Park, there is an accessible fishing pier, kayak launch, walk-in kayak ramp, and a redesigned parking area. The accessible fishing pier features lower railings and fishing rod holders. The kayak launch provides an area for adaptive paddlers to enter and exit the water. The walk-in kayak ramp allows paddlers that use a cart to roll their kayaks to the water. These features ensure everyone can enjoy the beauty of nature, regardless of age or ability.
The Lower Yahara River Trail Phase 2 & Fish Camp County Park Improvements Project has been honored with the APWA Wisconsin’s Project of the Year Award in the Transportation — $5M but less than $25M category.
A heartfelt thank you to all who played a part in making this project a reality!
