Community and Shareholder Engagement Wins the Award

The achievement of the Lower Yahara River Trail (LYRT) Phase 2 & Fish Camp County Park Improvements project is a reflection of not only Dane County Parks and our engineers’ hard work, but also the proactive engagement and collaboration with community members, Wisconsin DNR, and Access Ability Wisconsin. Your input helped shape the project’s vision, ensuring it preserves ecological integrity while expanding recreational opportunities.

Your contributions made the trail and park improvements harmonize with the landscape and meet the needs of diverse user groups. Public meetings fostered a sense of ownership and investment in the project’s success.

The LYRT Phase 2 & Fish Camp County Park Improvements project was honored earlier this month with the APWA Wisconsin’s Project of the Year Award in the Transportation — $5M but less than $25M category.

We are grateful to each and every one of you for your incredible support and effort on this project!
