In early June, team members from KL shared a five-year plan to update Shorewood’s outdated streetlight system, dating back to the 1970s. According to their presentation, after considering different operating voltages and system infrastructure alternatives, the decision made was the lower cost, minimal maintenance, and minimal residential property impact option. The project will replace all remaining residential street lighting throughout the Village that will not be upgraded through the upcoming Lake Dr project. Phase I, set for 2025 in the Village’s northwest, is currently in design. This upgrade aims to reduce frequent outages, with phases planned to avoid conflict with other major Village reconstruction efforts. We are excited to be part of this update!
