At the International Trail Summit here in Madison, hosted by American Trails and Professional Trailbuilders Association, KL’s Aaron Passow and Samantha Herheim will be presenting along with Dane County Parks’ Alex DeSmidt, on the Lower Yahara River Trail (LYRT) project at 1:30 on Wednesday, 4/16. The presentation will discuss how the trail now connects Madison, McFarland, and Stoughton along with other interesting insights. LYRT includes north America’s longest inland boardwalk bridge, accessible fishing piers, and kayak launches. Those who attend the presentation will hear about how Phase 1 (2017) and Phase 2 (2024) have transformed the community. The presenters will also be sharing about the collaboration with key stakeholders like the Wisconsin DNR, Ho-Chunk Nation, WATCO Railroad, and Access Ability Wisconsin, and how the trail connects popular destinations for non-motorized travel and recreation. Don’t miss out on valuable insights and lessons learned!
