Everlight Solar, a growing player in the renewable energy sector, sought to expand its operations by relocating to a new facility within the Liberty Business Park in Verona, WI. To facilitate this move, they engaged KL Engineering to handle important aspects of the project including site design, surveying, and construction staking.
A key aspect of the project was accommodating the unique Flex Office space building, characterized by its adaptable 40-foot-wide bays that could be used individually or combined for larger spaces. This required a flexible site design capable of accommodating different configurations. Additionally, the grading had to provide a pad-ready site for the future development of surplus land. The building was constructed by Newcomb Construction who specializes in concrete tilt-up buildings.
One of the project’s main challenges was integrating the site design with the planning and construction of the frontage street concurrently with the site construction. Additionally, the KL team successfully navigated the extensive city approval process, from the Certified Survey Map (CSM) stage through site design, all within a tight construction timeline.
Ultimately, the new building was completed within the desired timeframe, showcasing KL Engineering’s efficiency and effectiveness in meeting Everlight Solar’s expanding needs while demonstrating adept management of the design, survey, and staking processes.
