KL Engineering worked closely with Dane County, the Town of Westport, and WisDOT over the past 5 years to develop plans to address the traffic congestion in the developing area between Oncken Road and WIS 113 on CTH M in the Town of Westport. CTH M is a heavily traveled commuter route, a gateway to Westport, and a highly desired bicycle and pedestrian corridor. Six public involvement meetings and many stakeholder meetings were held to identify the needs and develop solutions for this multimodal corridor. Expansion of the roadway in this environmentally sensitive area required close coordination with the resource agencies to minimize and mitigate impacts. We’re excited to see the plan put into action and improve the daily lives of those who live and work in the area.
