The City of Sun Prairie held their second Public Information Meeting, regarding the Main Street Traffic Study project. The first meeting revealed that the Main Street crash rate is 12% higher than the statewide average of similarly categorized roads. Kevin Wehner, one of KL Engineering’s Traffic Engineers, led a 30 minute presentation outlining possible solutions. Various types of flashing beacons can be added in specific areas to increase safety for pedestrians. Curb bump outs and other traffic measures were also discussed. To learn more about the solution specifics, read the full Sun Prairie Star article. The final study findings and recommendations will be shared at the third and final meeting in December.
