86% of U.S. adults have had a healthcare provider recommend non-medication methods for improving physical and mental health. Healthcare providers often recommend park and recreation-related activities like spending time in nature to contribute to their overall wellbeing.

Taking in the sights of nature while walking the boardwalk at Waucheeta Trail does wonders for folks’ wellbeing. KL Engineering provided design and prepared construction documents and field surveys for a 200-foot boardwalk at Capital Springs Centennial State Park. The 12-foot-wide structure connects Waucheeta Trail to Lake Waubesa and even supports 10,000-pound vehicle loading. Supported by helical piles, it features bicycle-compatible railings and transition ramps for seamless access.

There is something for everyone to love about Waucheeta Trail and #ThePower Of Wellbeing this #ParkandRecMonth! #ParkandRecMonth2026
