This week, we are highlighting the work our engineers do to celebrate EWeek. Many of our projects are “reconstructions” or “rehabilitation” of existing roadways, trying to improve or repair something that is already there. When KL’s engineers set out to #DesignYourFuture, service life is an important factor. Tyler Hagemeier is one of our engineers who has been working with us at our in Green Bay office for 2 years. When asked about how the future frames his work as a designer, he said, “Generally, roadway design projects aim to improve existing conditions. These projects carry a duty to serve the public by ensuring safe and efficient travel in the future. We consider the service life of a project to maximize the longevity of improvements while minimizing costs, all while adhering to required design standards.” The balance is difficult to strike, and that is why this week and every week, we are happy that we have engineers like Tyler designing the future!
