2025 – International Women’s Day

The 8th of March was International Women’s Day. This year, the IWD team focused on efforts to #AccelerateAction supporting the advancement of women and girls. KL’s Shelly Harris looks ahead to the future when she’s doing her work on our design team. “I consider the future in my design projects by looking at the ‘big picture’ for each project. I am always attempting to provide solutions that encompass an expanding community, heavier vehicles, and overall cohesiveness with future planned projects.” With a quickly changing future, hopefully we can have more women like Shelly in fields like civil engineering! The number of women in engineering occupations has been growing each year since 1970, and currently 15% of all women who are in a STEM field are in an engineering occupation.
