2023 WisDOT Outstanding Highway Construction Award for Asphalt Paving

Congratulations to Monarch Paving, Cooper Engineering, and WisDOT Northwest Region on winning the 2023 WisDOT Outstanding Highway Construction Award for Asphalt Paving! KL Engineering’s Chris Ehlert was the acting WisDOT Project Manager overseeing construction on the USH 63 project from Baldwin to Cumberland in Polk County. Monarch Paving provided an outstanding project with excellent ride quality under difficult circumstances, while maintaining flexible operations and scheduling around peak tourism traffic. They worked cooperatively with project staff, subcontractors, and the Department to deliver a high-quality project on time.
