2022 WisDOT Paving Award Finalist

WIS 64 / WIS 40 is an important community route, supporting traffic to City of Bloomer’s schools, industrial park, and agricultural areas. It also serves as a tourism gateway for the Chippewa Moraine State Recreation Area, Town Line Lake & Woods State Natural Area, Chippewa County Forest, and numerous lakes and resorts. The old pavement was deteriorated, causing a rough ride and drainage issues. KL’s John “Woody” Mueller served as the Project Engineer for the creation of this beautiful new road that qualified as a finalist for the 2022 WisDOT Outstanding Highway Construction Award for Asphalt Paving. Congratulations Woody, Eric Hoel, and Cole Mueller on being recognized for your hard work!
