KL Engineering is completing the preliminary design to reconstruct State Street for the City of Eau Claire. Improving safety and the pedestrian experience are the primary goals for this popular one mile stretch that provides access to downtown and the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire campus.
The preliminary concept includes three mini-roundabouts to improve the traffic flow and reduce crashes. The roadway will be reduced from 4 lanes to 2 lanes to include bike lanes and a wider sidewalk.
