Michael Ostendorf will travel to Las Vegas next week for the EV Charging Summit & Expo, where he’ll participate in a panel discussion titled “Engineering the Charge: CFI‑Funded Programming, Site Selection, and Design for Dane County.” He’ll be joined by Ryan Gram of Kimley‑Horn and Kathy Kuntz from the Dane County Office of Energy & Climate Change.

Their session will highlight Charge Up Dane County, a county‑led effort designed to expand equitable access to EV charging by installing Level 2 chargers in public spaces where drivers naturally park for longer periods. The presentation will walk through the site evaluation phase of the program, including both desktop analysis and on‑site reviews that help determine which locations are most feasible. Factors such as accessibility, available electrical capacity, and expected community benefit all play a key role.

Attendees will get an inside look at the tools, data, and real‑world lessons that guide a structured, data‑driven approach to planning EV infrastructure. It’s a valuable session for planners, engineers, and local officials looking to understand how thoughtful evaluation leads to reliable, community‑centered charging solutions.

Looking forward to hearing the insights that come out of this discussion.
