We are proud to highlight the design considerations involved in the Lower Yahara River Trail Phase 2 & Fish Camp County Park Improvements Project. The newest section of the trail was carefully aligned with the contours of the wetlands, shoreline, and forested areas to create a natural flow. The elevated boardwalk allows users to experience natural elements up close without disturbing delicate ecosystems. Strategic placement of the boardwalk and bridge system preserves the site’s natural hydrology and offers visually uninterrupted connections between land and water.
This project was recently honored with the APWA Wisconsin’s Project of the Year Award in the Transportation — $5M but less than $25M category!
We appreciate everyone’s contributions to this amazing project!
