KL’s Bill Biesmann and Andrew Haffele of the Wildcat Mountain Work Unit in the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Bureau of Parks and Recreation Management are presenting a case study regarding the repair of Elroy-Sparta State Trail at the International Trail Summit in Madison on Wednesday, April 16th at 9am, hosted by American Trails and Professional Trailbuilders Association. Attendees of the presentation will learn about the history of the Elroy-Sparta Trail and its economic impacts on the surrounding community after it sustained damage from heavy rains and flooding in 2018. The Elroy-Sparta State Trail is ranked among the top 15 trails in the U.S. by Travel & Leisure magazine. It is a National Recreation Trail and the first rail-to-trail project in the country! Attendees will gain valuable insights and learn from Bill and Andrew’s experiences.
