KL Engineering Participates in Green Box Composting!

Did you know that at least 20% of trash in our landfills is food waste? Food waste and other organic materials decompose in landfills and create methane gas, which is 27 times more harmful than carbon dioxide in impacting the earth’s atmosphere. KL is a proud subscriber to the Green Box composting service. We place coffee grounds, lunch scraps and other compostable materials in our kitchen area and they are collected biweekly. To date, we have diverted 1,430 lbs. of waste from landfills, which equates to an environmental offset of 64 gallons of gas.
