What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- 3-8+ years of traffic engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Wisconsin
- PTOE or RSP certification preferred
- Proficiency in traffic engineering analysis and design software, including HCS, Synchro, AutoCAD Civil3D, Sidra (VISSIM and IHSDM experience strongly preferred)
- Previous experience on transportation projects (WisDOT experience is a plus!)
Your key responsibilities include:
- Conduct traffic engineering studies and prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on project findings, including Corridor Planning Studies, Multi-modal Transportation Improvement Plans, Traffic Impact Analyses (TIAs), WisDOT Design Reports, and Safety Studies.
- Design traffic signals, roadway lighting, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
- Perform analytical tasks such as traffic operations modeling, traffic safety analysis, and identifying operations and safety improvement alternatives
- Plan and oversee traffic and safety data collection efforts, ensuring accurate implementation
