Expertise: Traffic Engineering & Analysis

KL Engineering has completed many Traffic Impact Analyses for WisDOT projects and private developers in accordance with WisDOTís Traffic Impact Analysis Guidelines and Trans 233. Tasks completed are data collection including traffic counts and crash analyses; trip generation, assignment and distribution; capacity analyses; traffic signal warrant review; improvement recommendations.

Recent TIAs have been completed for a retail development in Wisconsin Dells, three traditional neighborhood developments in Sun Prairie and Madison, a mixed use development at USH 12 and USH 14 in Middleton, a mixed use development in the Town of Rome, retail developments in the City of Madison near East Towne Mall, and a mixed use development on Mineral Point Road in Madison.

KL Engineeringís recent work includes 56 peak hour traffic counts along the I-94 corridor from Waukesha to the Minnesota state line and 51 peak hour traffic counts on USH 14 in Dane and Rock counties. We also completed 85 classification counts in Chippewa, Dunn and Eau Claire Counties using WisDOT traffic counters; 46 `five-day counts associated with an Origin - Destination Study and 39 48-hour counts for the Regionís annual count program.

In addition, KL Engineering has completed numerous turning movement counts, gap analyses and stop sign delay studies for public and private clients as a part of routine counting programs and for speci`fic developments. KL Engineering completed a series of intersection turning movement counts for the City of Madison, on downtown highly urban streets.
